Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing PAUT

NDE Inc. maintains a highly qualified staff of ultrasonic technicians capable of flaw detection, weld inspection, bonding and thickness measurement. Our inspectors are experienced in the latest techniques and are capable of efficiently evaluating your components with limited run time interference. The advanced ultrasonic Phased Array inspection can provide real time weld inspection without the traditional radiography exclusionary zones, keeping your projects productive. Phased Array can also effectively be used to profile remaining wall thickness in corrosion survey applications and provides a color coded visual demonstration of the component inspection results. The resultant data is transportable and easily storable in electronic format.

Industrial Radiography

NDE., Inc. specializes in industrial radiography on congested job sites. We understand the cost of customer down time, so our crews carefully analyze the job requirements to maximize our productivity and efficiency while minimizing the impact to your schedule. Our crews are highly trained and maintain radiography certifications in gamma and computed radiography. Traditional gamma radiography is one of the oldest volumetric inspection techniques available and is suitable for use on virtually any material. Computed radiography (CR) is an advanced radiographic inspection technique providing a more intuitive display and requires less radiation exposure to produce images. CR allows the technician to view multiple thicknesses on a part with one exposure and the resultant high-resolution images can be adjusted and enhanced to improve viewing and identification. The high-resolution images can be easily stored on flash drive or emailed with the CR Light version software to other parties for review.

Magnetic Particle and Liquid Dye Penetrant

Magnetic particle (MT) and Liquid Dye Penetrant (PT) inspections are excellent options for high volume inspection needs. MT and PT examinations can be used in a variety of applications to detect surface or slightly sub surface (MT) discontinuities and are extremely versatile to accommodate a wide range of surface conditions and part configurations. NDE Inc. technicians are well-versed in the industry specifications and can effectively differentiate between relevant and non-relevant discontinuities to provide you with the most accurate and complete results possible.

Field Heat Treatment

When properly applied, heat treatment has a multitude of benefits, including corrosion resistance, weld strength and durability and material resilience. Pre-heating materials prior to welding slows the parent material rate of cool and helps avoid material stresses, shrinkage and hydrogen cracking in the heat affected zone (HAZ). Post heat treatment of a weld helps to diffuse any remaining hydrogen in the weld and HAZ and reduces the risk of hydrogen induced cold cracking. Along with field heat treating, NDE Inc. can also perform stress relief services where the temperatures are carefully monitored and maintained to ensure stresses are redistributed uniformly throughout both the parent material and welded area. NDE Inc. employs highly trained and qualified heat treatment service technicians who understand our customers’ needs for weld strength and longevity.

Concrete Scanning

Call us before you start a remodel or new construction involving concrete slabs, pilings or buildings. Our concrete scanning techniques can locate rebar, conduit, cables and many foreign objects buried within concrete. We do both vertical and horizontal scanning to help you identify obstacles before they become a safety or other costly mistake. Our trained technicians can quickly identify obstructions to keep your project on schedule.

Positive Material Identification

PMI is a new, innovative and portable technology that can quickly perform a positive elemental composition analysis on metals and alloys. We can use it to authenticate your vendor’s material certifications, verify your non-certified material meets your specifications or identify your exposure risks involved with certain elements such as lead. The inspection is fast, can accommodate a multitude of sizes and configurations and does not require destructive samples or coupons. It can accurately identify 14 elements at any point in your process to support quality control and safety in your processes.
